About this property
This is a growing neighborhood, part of the Super Illa project creating less traffic in the city of Barcelona. Well connected with metro and buses to the city center and also not far from the beach.
The house is an old townhouse that has been completely renovated from the ground and turned into a modern family home with a Scandinavian touch. It offers 3-4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 terraces and a garage.
Entering the house, we walk through the garage where we also find a separate washing area. Stepping through the door, we enter another world. A beautiful sunlight from the inner courtyard greets us in the hallway that opens up to a spacious living area with an open kitchen with access to the downstairs terrace. A social area for the whole family cooking and eating inside or outside, or just relaxing in front of the tv. On the same level you also find a complete bathroom with shower and floor heating.
Upstairs, on the first floor we find the sleeping area with a spacious master bedroom with ensuite bathroom facing the back of the house. On the other end we find another big bedroom facing the street. This can easily be separated into two bedrooms suitable for kids or guests. Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. Between the two bedrooms a lounge area was created that can be turned into a bedroom or a home office closing the sliding doors. It has nice light and a mini balcony facing the inner courtyard, another area suitable for the needs of the modern family. This floor also offers an additional full bathroom with shower. The top floor contains a 19 m2 rooftop terrace perfect for lazy sunny days in the sunchair when you don’t want to go to the beach or a bbq in the sunset.
The house was renovated in 2019 and was done from scratch, a cast micro cement floor on the first floor, a warm wooden parquet on the second and modern playful colors such as forest green, blue and pink in the bathroom tiles. A lovely mix between the old details as the beams of the roof and a modern Scandinavian style.
Poblenou is the one neighborhoods in Barcelona that keeps changing and developing. It lies at the center of the Barcelona design movement, and attracts everyone from architects, artists and hipsters to start-ups with its trendy markets, concept stores and innovative festivals. Poblenou used to be a very traditional Catalonian neighborhood, and the central and lower parts of the barrio still are. This area is dotted with colorful Modernist architecture, and even has its own ‘rambla’ (esplanade). The north and surrounding areas, however, are very different, filled with big old warehouses and modern tech hubs. It’s here where architects, hipsters, designers and start-ups have moved in. This area has become known as @22, a place now occupied by design schools, galleries, craft beer breweries, and new-age digital companies looking to take over the world.
